Garmin Connect app won't go beyond initial screen

Hallo,
as I just bought a garmin smartwatch, I had to download the Garmin Connect app. But the app won’t start or go beyond the initial screen. What can I do to make it work?

I’m using a fairphone 5 with e/os 3.1.1-t-20250828521480-official-FP5
