I got a Garmin Forerunner 965 and now a brand new Fairphone 6 with /e/ os (3.0.4) preinstalled. I downloaded the Garmin Connect app from the lounge. But am unable to pair my watch with it.
In the Garmin app I try to pair it but it cannot find it, on my watch I see a QR code but not sure what to do with it. I tried to follow the link but nothing happens.
I think that I should add a pin code somewhere but there is no pop up for it.
I have a Garmin Instinct watch and connected it to Gadgetbridge on my /e/OS phone. All local. Perhaps a better alternative?
No, I do want Garmin Connect functions.
Sorry to ask it but is your watch in pairing mode ?
I have a Venu2 and synchronize it with my FP6 under /e/OS.
I also tried Gadget Bridge, but it lacks some features for me to adopt it permanently.
Yes, when I set it in pairing mode than the QR code is displayed on the watch and it tells me to scan it. I scanned it with QR code reader and it goes to a garmin URL but nothing loads. I suppose it is supposed to open something in the Garmin Connect app to continue the pairing.
This should be the normal process.

I ran into the same issue with my Forerunner 945. I tried the above recommendations, clearing the device from my Connect profile in a couple places. Iām not sure if that ended up being necessary; I dug into the watch menu trying to look for a way to clear cached phone connection data, and found Phone > Pair Phone which worked immediately after several tries just connecting with the Connect app and the watch Pair Phone widget.

I just tried it again yesterday without any special steps and it worked like a charm.
Off course we are a couple of /e/os versions further so that might have helped.
