Since last /e/OS update (2.1-t-20240603… stable-FP5), Gcam doesn’t work any more on Fairphone 5.
Any idea why?
Any idea how to be able to use it again?
I also have that issue. Received a brand new FP5, flashed latest e/OS (2.1-t-20240603406607-stable-FP5) using adb and I’m unable to install GCam.
Here is the crashlog from BSG 8.9 without config, if that help :

The good news is that the camera that works with e/OS V. 2.1 is now quite good! I’m very happy with it - and even the high resolution is now supported.
Personally, I no longer need the Google ports
You mean the OpenCamera one ?
I can still see the difference with when I had Google’d Android still installed though.
The real deal breaker for me is the slowness of OpenCamera to actually take the picture once clicked. I could take 3 or 4 pictures in the same time frame with GCam
The panorama function is also easier to use on Gcam.
Very intereated if someone found qa GCam version working with FP5 and /e/ >= 2.1…
I already opened an issue at the bugtracker for this: Gcam stopped working after updating to 2.1, too many and broken cameras in Open Camera (#8123) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab
Sadly there is no response yet, but I will link this thread there → I’m not the only one with this issue. The default camera got better, but is still far away from Gcam (HDR mode).
On FP5, after the e/OS v2.4-t-20240924 update, my GCcam is now working again.
I’m using Bigkaka AGC9.2 v13.0 (1e414fec), so not the latest but that’s what I had installed already. Though, people are still reporting error on RAW format type does not work in version 2.1 /e/OS on FP5 (#8075) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab for FP4, so I may just be lucky or there is a change on FP5 that’s not on FP4
Have you tried the Fairphone camera? It should be available since 2.4 on the FP5. It’s IMO as good as the GCam ports.
