I would like to have the option of having the trebuchet launcher present as I do prefer it over the bliss launcher as do may other /e/ users but it is just wishful thinking

In v2.x trebuchet is not disabled by /e/OS. Users can download and install it but they should not remove Bliss Launcher using adb or as root as some of the packages in BL are common across all launchers.
