Go directly to /e/OS U, do pass /e/OS T, do not collect $200

Some phones are currently being upgraded to /e/OS U. These replies in these threads state the intent for the Teracube to be upgraded to /e/OS T:

/e/OS U should be possible on the Teracube shown by this release of LineageOS 21 (Android 14):

Personal opinion, don’t waste your time with /e/OS T. Just jump straight to to /e/OS U so that the Teracube is not 1 version behind.
The title is a reference to Monopoly for anyone here who is young enough to not recognize it.

No.

This is not “are currently being upgraded” at all.

Yes, it is. I didn’t say U was ready or being released. U is being worked on and there are devices that are being planned to get it, as directly evidenced by the development and testing updates quote you posted. I was going to link that myself, but you generously did the work for me.
There is a U branch for the Fairphone 5:

It’s pretty safe to say that’s one of the phones that’s getting upgraded to U when it’s ready.
Thank you for your useless reply.

You’re welcome, always a pleasure, I’m here to serve.

What about the security patches in T?

What about the security patches in T?

What about them? Security vulnerabilities that are fixed in old versions of Android also get fixed in newer versions, and when a new version of Android is released it don’t ship with vulnerabilities that were fixed in older versions. Any /e/OS specific vulnerabilities that are fixed in T should be fixed in U.
