Google Maps stopped working

Hi,

A little while ago, the Google Maps app stopped being connected to the internet it seems, I can’t search for locations and the maps don’t load. I changed nothing, and everything is up to date. It always perfectly worked before, no account needed. Reinstalling the app doesn’t help. Latest /e/OS 3.6 on a Google Pixel 5 (redfin), located in Sweden.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Did Google enforce stricter API checks that microG can’t handle? Or what is going on?

This post has an explanation

Ah alright, thanks. Looks like there’s already a fix in the microG master branch, so hopefully it will be included in the next /e/OS release.

Good to be optimistic but e-3.7 is already in testing, so perhaps a little unlikely that microG 0.3.14 could now get incorporated a point release of 0.3.13 can work, reported below.

The issue tracker currently has the fix planned for 3.7 … Google Maps doesn't work (#9316) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab … and apparently the fix is working on several devices running a 3.7 release candidate.
