/e/GSI ‘Q’ offers since the beginning in the ‘Developer Options’ in the section DEBUGGING the option Rooted degbugging Allow running Android debugging as root to activate / deactivate.

I deliberately spoke only of /e/ GSI, but I know that not all GSI developers integrate this option - for whatever reason. Only the developers themselves know this.
