Happy with my Murena Pixel Tablet!

The last time I tried to make friends with a tablet PC, it was a Huawei Mediapad. I sent it straight back because it was running three dozen pre-installed apps that I couldn’t delete and couldn’t even tell what they were for!

Even official Samsung products with over 50 bloatware apps on top of all the Google stuff always made me angry - that I was paying a lot of money for hardware that I couldn’t even use!

But now it’s here: my Murena Pixel tablet! It’s not perfect, it still has the odd flaw - but it’s all mine!!! With the beloved Murena /e/OS interface, in which there are only the bare essentials! After 3 days I am very satisfied and on the way to real enthusiasm!

Am I the only one here who enjoys the freedom of the Murena tablet???

In terms of technical data, the Murnea Pixel Tablet is comparable to the Google Pixel Tabet - tangorpro with /e/OS-U U (official)

The ‘tangorpro’ is guaranteed Android version updates until at least June 2026 and security updates until at least June 2028, and is supported by several respectable Android distributions with custom ROMs, making an OS change easier.

The ‘tangorpro’ is still at a high level, but the sales price is steadily crumbling, so that an unused Google Pixel Tablet, still sealed in its box, can now be had for around €450.00 euros from a commercial dealer. It was recently offered on amazon USA for $298.00 US dollars. In EU-Europe, however, the retail price is significantly higher.

So I can’t see any particular advantage in advertising a Murnea Pixel Tablet. Well, maybe there is, if I want to support /e/OS e.foundation Murena with the purchase. But otherwise?

I really appreciate buying fully installed devices.

Seeing the number of problem reports here when installing custom roms manually, I will stick to this convenient preference as well. Although I have also successfully installed Lineage OS on smartphones. But the hassle of upgrades and updates, firmware updates, opening and closing the bootloader, renewing the recovery and so on make me appreciate Murena’s OTA update a lot!
