Help with Nextcloud

Hey everyone!

I just got my FP6 with e/os, and I need your help.

I have my own NextCloud instance running at home self hosted and e/os integrates with it wonderfully. However, I’m having trouble with a small detail.

The e/os gallery app displays everything that is inside of my NextCloud files (/Documents folder and so on).
My preference is that the gallery app would only show files inside of /Photos or /Pictures.

I already add files .nomedia on the /Documents folder level, but still all the images from those folder keep showing on the e/os gallery app. The NextCloud app for iOS for instance, doesn’t show anymore those images and videos from the /Documents folder since I added that .nomedia file.

Is there a way for the gallery to not display any media files from folders other than /Photos or /Pictures or /Camera ??

Thank you !

Just for clarity … if images had already uploaded to the cloud then addition of `.nomedia’ will not cause them to be deleted from the Murena cloud (even if you might expect that in your own NextCloud).

If you delete all those images manually from the cloud, then the .nomedia file is expected to prevent further uploads – or do you find different?

I’m still figuring out how this process works.

e/os downloads everything from my NextCloud to the phone, that’s why I sometimes see duplicated folders on the “files” app.

“Gallery” app is showing all the images in videos in all the folders of the phone.

Then my question is:
How can I hide from “gallery” app every image which is not a picture from /Camera ?
I want to make sure only pictures I took will appear.

I just added a .nomedia to the phone /Documents folder. But it still shows all the media in the folder on the “gallery” app.

Not sure if needs some hours to update

Ensure Sync is Off for “Photos and Videos” in

Settings > Accounts > your Murena Account > Account sync.

Answering my understanding of

I tried to give and get clarification on that point. (Edit re the /Documents folder.) The .nomedia file won’t change what already happened. I think.

How does eDrive sync work?

[FIXED]

Adding “.nomedia” in the folders themselves in the phone itself (after syncing with NextCloud). Not in NextCloud itself. Not in root folder /Documents of phone

I tried adding files after the “.nomedia” file but it didn’t make a difference.
Adding the “.nomedia” after the files themselves works fine with the procedure above.
