Hisense A7CC, colour e-ink phones

A number of disabled users can only use e-ink phones produced for, and exclusive to the Chinese market (these phones are based on android).
Among phones imported from China, e-ink phones are some of the best sellers.

Using a Chinese phone in Europe and the US has a number of shortcomings:

  • Chinese spywares and other privacy concerns,
  • no apps relying of google play services/microg,
  • no official access to a non-chinese app store, except for f-droid.

The Hisense A7CC is the first phone with a Kaleido Plus screen.
Basically, the first phone with a good, large color e-ink screen. The battery life is exceptional, 3-5 days.

Any chance I can convince you guys to support it?

As responded to here we have a developer bandwidth issue which restricts us from focusing on expanding the range of our phones.
We hope we will be able to overcome these issues in the future. We would welcome users with development skills who can help port /e/ or develop for e-ink devices.
