How can I choose a phone with a square display?

Hi all. Please tell me if there is a filter to choose a phone with a square display? I do not really like the last trend when the phone display is pulled up, as implemented for example in OnePlus 8 Pro.

What do you mean by square display?

I see a rectangular display in portrait format.

I think he means that the display wraps around the edges of the phone.
I also found this feature unnecessarily flashy, made damaging the screen more likely but replacing it more expensive and harder to do yourself.
It did make a lot of gestures easier to do though.

No such filter in the smartphone selector

You need to search the web/check the specs individually per available device

Thank you for your answers. I will try to explain it in another way. I don’t like the shape of the display like the OnePlus 8 Pro, I don’t mean the screen that wraps around the edges, but the shape of the display. It is upwards, not proportional. In other words, aspect ratio.

Example OnePlus 6. So that I can control the phone with one hand.

@obacht’s answer still applies.

It’s a pity that there is no such filter, I’ll search well on the Internet…

= Curved Display

I’ve much handier curved display smartphones than the OnePlus 8 Pro: Galaxy S6 Edge, S7 Edge. They all still fit in my trouser pocket. The Galaxy S8 and S9 require slightly larger trouser pockets. But they are all more comfortable to hold.

The OnePlus 6 is still an excellent smartphone. Mine runs with a more private and more secure aftermarket mobile operating system based on AOSP & LineageOS, and - the bootloader is relocked again.

If you’re looking for a OnePlus 6 alternative, Poco F1 is the phone you should consider first.

Are you trying to say “a screen that is not so long and tall relative to its width?”

Thanks for your answers and opinions!

I found a good site https://versus.com/ where you can see the dimensions of the phones.

Here is a link and an example of a screenshot. This is very convenient and important when choosing a phone. I don’t know why the /e /os developer missed this step.

It seems to me the most correct ones from the point of view of nation will be phones:

  1. Samsung S25 Plus

  2. OnePlus 6

  3. Xiaomi Mi 8

  4. Xiaomi Pocophone F1

Perhaps other models …

Interesting site, thank you for the link!
As for " I don’t know why the /e /os developer missed this step": While the provided functionality would indeed be useful on the Murena site itself, I guess the implementation would be too complicated at the moment.
