I‘m new to /e/os and wonder which precautions a user should take in terms of cybersecurity. Do you use any third party Security Programs like McAfee, Avira etc?

Both of those app have a privacy score of 0/10, they have trackers themselves.
Trackers are one thing. But what about viruses, malware etc.? I come from iOS which is pretty safe by design (Apps run in sandboxes). But I don‘t really know about Android. Should you take any additional measures besides keeping your /e/os version up to date?
For most persons, there is no need for a “security” software.
For rare persons who might face threats from undemocratic governments or criminal organisation, the OS itself is quite safe but some other OSs with more focus on safety are a little better in that regard. Though the most helpful safety protection comes from your hygiene: which app you use.
I you use app like whatsapp to communicate or apps with a lot of advertisements, free to play games etc then stopping to use them altogether would be the most efficient safety action. And I am not talking about data privacy, just that your safety will be more affected by companies which do not benefit from the safe and long-term protection of your data: the likeliness of having unwanted leaks will be higher. We also have absolutely no guarantee that such companies basing their revenue on selling private data will sell those data only to advertisement networks, actually they might not even know or care to whom they sell their data, so the buyers might very well be criminal organisations or malignant governments….
/e/ OS is very close to any other Android version, so it has the same efficient safety features.
Though if you use random apps, the theats will come from there.
