Hi @coding_hedgehog , Welcome to the forum.
There is a wealth of information here and for repetitive questions such as this it’s best to do a quick search! No offence, but there is activity in a similar topic just a few hours behind yours.
I think you will find that the eTeam try to keep up with monthly updates but there are often delays for one reason or another. Nobody can put a time frame on it exactly.
Look for install instructions for whatever device you are interested in, click through to the rom downloads for the device and see how often the version number changes. Security patches will often come with different version numbers.
Hi. I’m new here and did a search, but didn’t find a answer to my question.
So i post my question here, kinda same topic.
Is a Fairphone gen6 with /e/OS uptodate more secure then a stock uptodate google android device?
I mean, are their developers at /e/OS who make changes for better security then stock android from google?
Like, can Israel (IDF) get in my Fairphone with /e/OS, using Paragon Solutions (assuming their is no spyware installed, and if does a app like f-secure detect that spyware, or do they (av/malware detect company/app) have a deal with Paragon to ignore the malware of them) ? Like they do now at USA gov.
Because i want those #$@!%*&!!! out of my phone ![]()
/e/OS main focus is privacy. It’s aiming to provide you a way of using your phone while leaking as less information as possible to Google & Co. This doesn’t make it insecure and would surely help if you think somebody might collect and analyse data about you. But if you are really concerned of getting hacked by some intelligence service you are probably better of with Graphene OS or without a mobile at all.
I read about Graphene OS and I find it ironic that this de-googled system is designated originally to run on Google (sic!) Pixel phones… I despise that corporation (google not Graphene) and wouldn’t like to have anything to do with them. Graphene say they do not use microG, but they use Google hardware! Unless it is done out of spite? ![]()
I agree. Graphene works mostly on google pixel devices, kinda weird.
GrapheneOS and LineageOS work on not so much android smartphones. That’s why i choose Fairphone with /e/OS.

I have f-secure app on my phone, but it never detects a thing, and that is good. (because my phone provider is Odido based, so because of Odido hack they give 2 year f-secure for free.)
