I might get a phone to download /e/OS and i need GApps.(I know,/e/OS is a private OS and GApps isnt so private, its like killing a horse just to keep it there)
Really funny idea, thanks for that ;- )
use the App Store or add the Aurora store.
i mean like sideloading via adb
It’s more like taking your horse out into a field then you take the fences down … no killing the horse involved.
So you mean a complete GApps package like MindTheGapps?
As microG poses as GApps in /e/OS and is a preinstalled system App, this would be a severe conflict and should fail.
Either install the individual Google Apps you need via App Lounge or Aurora Store as already suggested and hope that they work with microG, or use LineageOS instead of /e/OS as a starting point.
Ok,also how do i change the launcher on e OS?
Also wouldnt it be easier to just remove microG on the e OS zip?
Install a launcher of your choice, then make it the default in Settings - Apps - Default apps - Home app
Feel free to if you can, and if you want to have a system perhaps behaving unpredictably.
LineageOS is the usual base for a GApps package, as they don’t really degoogle. They can’t legally preinstall Google Apps and services, and so they don’t, but that’s what you want to install yourself with a GApps package, that’s fine and should work.
(If you want to play it safe with your Google account you might want to additionally consider Google’s registration of devices running uncertified Android OSes for the legitimate use of Google services at https://www.google.com/android/uncertified .)
Where would i find the microG apk?
I don’t know. That’s the “if you can” part.
