How to replace built-in microG with upstream microG

Tested on both [UNOFFICIAL BUILDS] Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime VE (grandprimeve3g) and Samsung Galaxy Core Prime (coreprimeve3g) for /e/OS-Oreo - #3 by ronnz98 (Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime VE grandprimeve3g, running /e/ 0.21-Nougat) and [UNOFFICIAL BUILDS] LG G4 series (h811) (h815) (vs986_usu) for /e/OS-T 3.1.x - #16 by PH_Android (LG G4 VS986, running /e/ 3.2-T).

Requires TWRP.

  1. Boot to TWRP
  2. Install (flash) the NoGoolag variant of GitHub - FriendlyNeighborhoodShane/MinMicroG-abuse-CI: Automatic MinMicroG builder for updatelys. DO NOT STAR. You will find constant unneccessary notifications in your mail whenever I play around with it. · GitHub
  3. Clear Cache and Dalvik-Cache
  4. Reboot to /e/ (system)
  5. Install the latest microG APKs (gms and vending) from GitHub - microg/GmsCore: Free implementation of Play Services · GitHub or through F-Droid (repo: microG F-Droid repo ).
