I was nearing my cloud capacity, so I started deleting stuff from the cloud storage (mainly pictures). Very soon I realized that might be the wrong way around since the phone syncs TO the cloud. Also, it’s easier to delete stuff on the phone since I can just browse the data from the file explorer in windows anyway.
So I deleted a crapton of pictures from my phone, but the cloud is still complaining that “it’s full”. It did not remove any of the stuff from my cloud that doesn’t exist on the phone anymore.
I tried searching but found no option to influence the sync in any way. I can’t select frequency, can’t force a sync (that would be useful too!!) but I also cannot force murena cloud to re-sync towards what is currently on the phone (or vice versa).
deletions will not propagate either way between cloud / device. If you want to reduce space use on cloud to get under your quota you need to delete on cloud and empty the trashbin.
Resetting the eDrive apps Cache and Storage is akin to a “memory reset” if you want to reupload files once more. By default once uploaded, eDrive will not try again.
I currently recommend RoundSync as (murena) webdav syncer when the in-built sync is cause for user frustration (if you give this a try, disable eDrive file sync).
I admit RoundSync has an error prone nextcloud auth setup and isn’t as easy to grok in concept. Until that is solved (there are remaining issues) I shouldn’t wave its flag. It works if one has an preexisting rclone config to import, but it’s convoluted.
