HTC M8 Weird mode

Hi,
I have this weird question about weird mode, that sometimes randomly happens of my phone. I can even describe it, I can only post picture

While in this mode I cannot do anything. I just see time and battery level in some kind of LED mode. Funny is, that I am still able to answer calls. Only way to escape this mode is to use fastboot reboot.

Any ideas?

I know this is late but this dotview is activated by a magnetic sensor. I disabled mine long ago so I cannot remember how but if you see this screen come up try touching a magnet around the edges.
