I regularly get errors like : Process “X” does not respond

Hi,

I’m using /e/os on my fairphone 4 for almost two years now, and I’m starting to get “Process ‘X’ doesn’t respond” errors (where X stand for ‘system’ or any other app) and freezes more and more frequently. Is this normal? Are other people experiencing the same problems? What solutions exist to avoid this kind of problem?

As a first step, and it does come up quite often, you might try

Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications) > See all … apps > {3 dot menu top right > Show system, if required} > Process X > Storage & cache > Clear storage | Clear cache.

Clear Cache will always be transient data and this will not be disruptive. Always just try this first.

Clear Storage will mimic uninstall and reinstall the app. So an email app for instance will lose all your configuration settings but not the actual mail in boxes.
