I had to reinstall stock android because I forgot to log out of my Google account and remove screen lock prior to install…
(well initially I did, but it took me a few tries to succeed in installing e/OS and had to set up my phone again inbetween because I was exhausted and needed a functional phone before attemping to install e/OS again… and then I forgot to remove my Google account again… )
I tried both command line and installer methods, I don’t remember what was my device SPL then, except that it was older than the 2026-09-05 one, probably July or something.
Installer managed to install e/OS fine, I just lacked the screen lock feature due to the Google account thingie.
Post install, device SPL updated to 2026-09-05.
I thought it was fine, since the documentation shows this:
If you just run the installer with current /e/OS, then Sept 2026 will the seen SPL.
This however would be no refection of the index registered at the time of unlock.
When the accurate Android SPL is unrecorded, one would have to rely on your best guess for “History”. No one has so far recorded whether some fastboot command can reveal RIL.
Thank you for your reply! unfortunately I fear I don’t have the technical skills to understand what you wrote fully. (I don’t know what’s the “refection of the index registered” nor “RIL”.)
I installed e/OS, then reinstalled FPOS. Then I tried to install e/OS again through the Web installer, with my phone currently running FPOS. That’s where I get the error message in the screenshot.
I think I’ll just wait for the next release to be safe then.
