Image quality on Pixels?

Hello, I’m considering trying e/os on a pixel. For now, I have tried it on an old Sony Xperia Z5 c, and the images taken are not good. But it may comes from the camera that has a problem.
However, we know that software is an important part on the processing to get a good image from smartphones camera. How are the images on on e/OS ? Are the google algorythms applied at the firmware level, resulting in image quality similar on e/OS than on android ? Or is there a loss of quality ?

The pictures on a Pixel 4a5g, Pixel 5, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6A have been tested and are fine. These are the phones I have tested eOS on and the camera work to the phones specification. Same with a number of Motorola’s I have tested like the Edge (2021) and the Motorola Ace 5G.
