For some unknown reason, my phone refuses to set a new background image (from my pictures folder), although I did it already in the past.
I go to Settings, then “Background and style” (translated from french) → “change background” → My pictures → Camera → I select an image, then it says “Impossible to load background image: the image is corrupted or inaccessible” (also translated from french).
I initially thought that maybe the settings app doesn’t have permission to access the camera pictures, but after checking, it seems to be allowed.
Is there anything I should try/check/report that would help sorting this out?
I’ve done some more tests: I can change back to one of the predefined images, and then change again to the original JPEG file I was using, but if I select another JPEG (both taken with the phone’s camera) in the same folder (Documents/) I get the error. It looks like file system corruption, but I can still load that image using e.g. Gallery and it works perfectly. This is why I suspect there is a bug in the background image preview system.
I think that it could possibly be that the system can resist an image in the Documents/ folder.
Please can you try taking a photo, perhaps fairly low resolution, don’t move or manipulate it in any way … its location is expected as /DCIM/camera/ (or very similar) … are you able (as a test) to set this image as your wallpaper ?
