I can’t send SMS to most of my contacts. I can’t reply to any SMS. I live in France, with Orange/Sosh carrier.
EN : Failed to send. Tap to try again
FR : Echec de l’envoi. Appuyer pour réessayer
It may be related to phone numbers:
Send a SMS to 06xxxxxxxx : OK
Send a SMS to +336xxxxxxxx : Fail
Phone calls work.
Hardware : FairPhone 6
Software : eOS 3.4
APN : Orange Internet (orange.fr)

Also, the sending is failing when answering to received messages, or for new conversations created from scratch? I would try typing the phone number by hand with +33, without relying on contacts, to see if it still fails. If not, that would suggest a hidden character or wrong one on your contacts. Remains to be seen why / how it used to work, can be an app or system upgrade that broke compatibility with this character, or a modification on carrier’s side…

Exactly the same issue. And the common point is that we have the same provider : Orange.
Ca n’a pas commencé hier, mais c’est devenu petit à petit systématique. Un petit peu en décembre, puis de plus en plus souvent. Que je réponde ou que je démarre une discussion en +33.
It is happening more frequently since december. Today, it always happen, when I reply ou start a message with +33.
Il fails for both cases, new messages from scratch and replies.
My phone is brand new, so I don’t have much experience.
I tried to manually type a +33 phone number, it also fails.
Workaround : It seems that the Textra SMS application works, but it has a 0/10 privacy score.
Quik SMS app failed.
@Telcoced The Orange assistance gives a stock Android information. Where can I check the phone number of SMS server in /e/OS ?
Hmm can’t find it unfortunately, will try to dig, I was quite sure I was already able to find it, maybe I got confused.
