Install from micro SD on Moto G4

I’m new here but not new to flashing new software on my Moto G4 phone. I’ve had it for over 3 years now and unlocked the bootloader right away and installed TWRP and the Resurrection Remix ROM. I read the install instructions for /e/ twice for the Moto G4 and after u make a backup in TWRP it wants u to use:

adb sideload filename.zip

I don’t currently have ADB working but is that needed now? TWRP lets u flash (install) a .zip ROM file from the micro SD card. It’s running TWRP 3.2.1-0

No, not necessarily. TWRP can install files *zip or *.img

If TWRP is installed, you can use the /e/ build e-0.7-n-2019101126749-dev-athene.zip from the mircoSD via “Install”. Of course the storage medium must be selected in TWRP before.

Nice-so it is possible with the right file! That’s good to know.

Thanks for letting me know Archie!
