Install problems sony 5 iv

Hello, I need help installing /e/OS on my Sony Xperia 5 IV (XQ-CQ54, codename pdx224).

Build: e-4.4.1-a16-20261021695940-community-pdx224

My phone was running stock Android 14 successfully before I started.

I unlocked the bootloader and flashed the supplied boot, dtbo, vbmeta, vendor_boot and recovery images. Every flash command reported OKAY, but I cannot enter recovery. The phone either shows “Your device is corrupt” or returns to Fastboot.

Additional details:

  • Bootloader version: 8450-0001_X_Boot_SM8450_LA2.0_U_206

  • fastboot boot recovery-....img fails with FAILED (remote: 'not supported')

  • Current slot: a

  • slot-unbootable:a: yes

  • slot-successful:a: no

  • Slot B is also not marked successful.

Could someone familiar with the pdx224 community build advise me on the correct recovery procedure and how to recover safely?

I have downloaded the /e/OS ZIP and copy-partitions-20220613-signed.zip, but have not installed them yet.

I see

fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img

I hope this is successful.

It is very strange and often commented upon; /e/ documentation often says

Temporarily Booting a custom recovery using fastboot

when temporary booting is not supported

and

we require to install or flash the recovery.

Do you happen to know if /e/ supports notification LED? I tried to open an issue in the installation guide, but it won’t accept any of my email addresses.

I would expect “Notification light” to appear in Settings, perhaps default is off? My Moto LED works and adjusts OK.

In order to contribute to the /e/ Gitlab one should use an email derived from murena.io.
