Installation blocks on step 22 - error getting blob file modem.img

Hi,
I’m trying to install e OS on FP5 on Fedora.
I get stuck at « Installation 22/24 completed »
When « Installing dsp.img: 100/100 » shows, I get this error :

Error on step: connect-bootloader
Cannot execute command connect bootloader
Cannot execute command flash modem_a modem.img
error getting blob file modem.img

when I try again :

Error on step: flashing
Cannot execute command flash modem_a modem.img
error getting blob file modem.img

Any idea what is going wrong ? How can I cat passed this ?

is this the web installer, easy installer or a fastboot flash script? I’d guess the file really is missing in the source

at time of this reply, the web installer FP5 json config uses the A14 link, not A15 yet.

IMG-e-latest-a14-official-FP5.zip -> IMG-e-3.1.1-a14-20250828521479-official-FP5.zip

that image has the modem partition included:

$ unzip -l IMG-e-3.1.1-a14-20250828521479-official-FP5.zip  | grep modem
189247488  2025-08-28 10:33   modem.img

Either older images had it missing, or it was an incomplete download. In the latter case it should error out earlier when checking hashes (it does? didn’t read the source yet).

Can you retry?

There’s also https://openandroidinstaller.org/ that can use any sideloadable zip if it keeps erroring.

No matter the installer, check your security patch level date prior to flashing though and compare to what the image will supply - it needs to be more current.
