Installation CMF Nothing 1 stuck Easy Installer step 14

Hi there,
I tried to install e os U version on a new cmf nothing 1 phone.
The phone has Android 14 when I bought it (At least I think, because it updated to Nothing OS 3.0 just before I wanted to put e Os on it).

My laptop runs Windows 11.
As I have no knowledge of programming, I used the easy installer. I have done it before on gs290 and managed to get it working. So why not try again?

I installed drivers, got a good USB cable.
Phone was recognized and easy installer seemed to install e os.
However,
the phone does not start up again after the installation. It gets stuck at step 14. When trying to connect with bootloader it loops.
It sais: Orange State. Os not being verified or custom OS. Dismiss after 5 seconds.

I can get it into Recovery mode. But I don’t know what the possibilities mean.
A hard reset is not possible.
I am in need of knowledge from others who can explain it in a simple way (!).

Hope someone wants to help/explain it step by step.

Best wishes and thanks,
Annemarie

Hello there, the web installer is a bit tricky but should work like a charme if everything is correct like driver, correctly done the steps, etc.

Since there is no documentation of the web installer (if this continues, then I will create a guide…), no one knows what step 14 is.

Please describe the step or send pictures of phone and the browser.

I used the installer 2 days ago, with Linux without any hiccups.

Hi Mihael,
Thanks a lot for replying.
I did the installation again and took screen shots.
Step 14 is the step 'Connect to bootloader (bootloader verbinden in Dutch) after the Installation (Installeren) step.
In step 14 the telephone should be starting again in bootloader modus.

My telephone is in fastboot mode (photo). When I click on step 14 Connect (to bootloader) (photo), the message Orange State appears (photo)
and the telephone starts up every 5 seconds.
I have understood that this message means the bootloader is still unlocked.

Hope you can help,
Best wishes Annemarie

bootloader and fastboot are a term with the same meaning. I don’t wanna get tooo technical.

When your device is in fastboot mode, then you can continue with “Bootloader verbinden” and click “Verbind”.

The orange state is a normal thing because you unlocked the bootloader.
