Hello, I see during the past 8 years several people have said in this forum that they want to get the internet to their FairPhone via an ethernet / LAN / RJ45 cable. However I do not see any confirmation that this feature has been implemented by FairPhone.
I currently get the internet to my iphone via ethernet / LAN / RJ45 cable with a 3rd party adaptor that plugs into the USB socket on the phone. If FairPhone can provide confirmation that they have added this feature, then I would buy a FairPhone.
I think empowering people to not completely rely on wifi or mobile data (and potential health risks) fits well with the FairPhone ethos.
In principle this seems possible.
There have been threads in the fairphone forum.
Though my quick search didn’t show up anything for the recent FP5.
So, as @AnotherElk has suggested - better to put the question there.
It is a friendly & helpful folks there
I’ve got an unbranded ethernet adapter, bought years ago on ebay, which I use with my laptop occasionally. I’d never tried it with my phone before but seeing your question I thought I’d give it a go. Plugged it into my FP5 and it works like a charm.
