Now I’m a bit confused because for me the app is still not working but from my understanding Play Integrity API is now implemented into microg, what should I do to get the app working? Or is it impossibke due to strong Play Integrity API?
implementing more of the API and the device successfully passing verification is two different things. Also /e/OS is on microg 0.3.6 in public versions still, missing out on some PI fixes. What’s the result currently of a PIA test on your device?

that linked issue is at 500 comments and counting. Wallet apps by governments sure will be a point of major contention for Freedroids. I don’t think it’s solveable entirely technically, see last paragraph here - it needs campaigning
It shows only basic integrity, I think I need strong integrity to use the wallet.
But is this the case for every user on every device? Are you able to get strong integrity? I don’t know much about Play Integrity API, I don’t know if it is just a matter of time and fixing issues or if it is completely impossible to ever get strong integrity on microg. I don’t know if I can do something about it like for example buy a phone with /e/OS preinstalled.
I’m not making you read that 500 comment thread, but if you can relock is device dependant, and that contributes to Googles idea of device integrity, one pillar of Play Integrity. But the criticism on the concept is all laid out in that mega thread or elsewhere.
This is the ROM I’m currently running, unofficial because Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is not supported any more. Bootloader is unlocked and I don’t know if I can lock it.
I’m also considering to change phone soon, I’m wondering if buying a phone that is officially supported would grant me strong integrity by running official /e/OS ROMs. Or maybe buying a phone with /e/OS preinstalled and bootloader locked would do?
If the answer is “whatever you do you will never get strong play integrity on /e/OS” it’s fine but at least I would like to know it before buying a new phone.
get a relockable device (the preinstallation isn’t a criteria) or go all in on magisk and its modules to fake it.
But at the same time write your legislative representative a letter where your digital society is headed. As it was said in that thread, Play Integrity is more business than safety logic.
