Currently, I use a Murena Fairphone 5 with physical and eSIM in parallel.
Would it be possible, while travelling abroad, to install another eSIM next to my current eSIM (without affecting my current eSIM), so the phone would handle three operators (1 physical SIM, 2x eSIM)?
Hello jollajo, I’m trying to install an e-sim on my new FP5, and don’t find the good way to do that. I have received from my operator the related informations (the SM-DP+ address and the activation code) but don’t know how to setup. Could you help me ?
If you got to Settings search for SIMs. In category SIM there’s an entry SIMs. There’s an option + Add more. In the following dialogue there’s a button stinging Download new eSIM.
I don’t dare to press that as it may interfere with my existing eSIM. AFAIR you can scan the QR code of your eSIM from there.
Hm, while answering the post of @moonraper I went to the dialogue to add a new SIM. It doesn’t mention anything indicating that new eSIMs would replace the existing one. In don’t dare to test it though.
Thank you for your replies (jollajo and mhi). That’s exactly what I did (I mean add a new sim and download), beeing connected to internet by a home wifi, but it hangs, it does’nt go to the QR code capture step. I tried this e-sim addition procedure (SIM2) both with and without physical SIM1 inserted.Same result. It looks like as if it was blocked by a google transaction not completing correctly. Google is mentionned in the procedure as beeing involved. Could it be a problem with the e/os … ? I’m going to ask assistance in the operator store who provided to me the e-sim. (Bouygues) and eventually switch to a physical sim.
My eSIM operator is Deutsche Telekom and I didn’t have any issues importing my eSIM on /e/OS ,without Google involved. The procedure may differ with your operator.
