Is it possible to link 1 account to different devices?

Reason why i ask this is because i want to sign-up for a paid account. And most probably i’ll purchase a FP6 via murena (beside my current FP4).

Secondly, is there a difference between e.email & murena.io domain with respect to stability/security?

Thanks.

1 account, multiple devices? “yes, but” - there’s no terms-of-use or technical restriction barring you from adding your account to more than 1 /e/OS device. Contact / Calendar / Tasks will work, but file sync isn’t geared to be used with multiple /e/OS devices. It will still mostly work but it will get uncanny on filename collisions or modifications to the same file.

Stability: you’re asking because of your last thread @e.email - "server certificate not trusted" ? both domains are served from the same infrastructure (mail.ecloud.global) so no difference in principle - config issues can hit one domain first before the other though.

Edit: scoped “devices” to “/e/OS devices” ofc

Indeed I was referring to my last threat.

I’ll simply give it a try and see how it worksout best for me.

I have a fairphone 3+ with murena account. I sync everything without problems also on my iPad and on my two Linux laptops. Sometimes when I try out new systems on virtualbox, I also installed murena as online account. Without problems

thanks, clarified that bit from “devices” to “/e/OS devices” - I only worried about photo uploads, but misremembered - it’s not subsequent numbering. OpenCamera timestamps to seconds, a collision is unlikely unless you have 4 hands… unsynced edits to the same file will be an issue though

I have used my eCloud / Murena account on several devices with very few problems

  • phones running IodéOS and LineageOS for microG, using DAVx5, ICSx5, and NextCloud Desktop client and Notes apps to handle sync
  • Computers running Linux and MacOS, using NextCloud client for files, QOwnNotes for Notes, and Thunderbird for Contacts and Calendar sync

It should all work fine, because Murena is basically a hosted NextCloud instance, although I believe it is ‘tweaked’ slightly, and often lags behind the latest release of NextCloud
