Does the h830 LG G5 model receive security and software updates?

A frustrated LineageOS programmer said there’s too many challenges at the firmware level to continue supporting it so he recently stopped.
However I heard /e/ uses a different method “Tiramisu” vs Lineage’s “Upside Down Cake” which might help /e/ to better solve the problems Lineage cannot.
Any guidance is appreciated.
