Is there a somewhat private way to use spotify?

I was ready to see the Tercube 2e as stepping halfway back to a flip phone. There are very few popular apps I need or like.
I have become pretty enamoured of my Spotify account though. I’d like to keep using it. What are my options? I tried a search and found questions without answers. I’m pretty new to this, my Teracube is chrged and updated with a couple apps installed.
I just had to stop and ask when I saw that abysmal privacy score. Thanks to the devs for that feature.

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/ the unGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

On F-droid there 2 apps that may interrest you,

Spotube (Lightweight & resource friendly spotify client without requiring Spotify Premium)
Spotube | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

SpotiFlyer (Download All your songs from Spotify, Gaana, Jio Saavn, Youtube Music, SoundClou)
SpotiFlyer | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

Spotube is good for music but you can’t listen to podcast with it. Spotify Lite is better for privacy than Spotify, but it’s still not great.

Thank you both. You’ve given me something to think about.

Hey Signal,

I also have a pretty extensive list of Spotify Music I want to keep using. Other alternatives to not get tracked by Spotify I find cumbersome.

But then I figured: I have a Premium Spotify account, I can download all of my music (a playlist) to my phone (/micro SD) and then lock down Spotify to not have any access to WiFi of Mobile Data. Thus prohibiting them to mine data on when and where I listen to what.

And if want to add of delete something from my playlist I’ll give access the spotify app for that moment only.
Now,…maybe that online moment is utilized by Spotify to quickly send aggregated data on usage to the mothership,…I don’t know,…it would definately declare them a sorry bunch of people.

You know, i dont mind employing a workaround for extra privacy. Very good idea, thank you.
