Is there a switch, config settings… to install without all the mail server stuff?
And can it be run without any problems then, of course?

I can see tons of use cases, where this would be just fine.
In NC you can set up this:

which is all I ever needed in 13 years own/next-cloud — as it never did Mail, anyway.

A lean setup, without the hassle of mail-server config…

  • running smooth on the smallest VPS
  • would work great on home servers, with some dyn DNS
