I’ve recently bought a Fairphone 6 (e/OS version) and am making the effort to degoogle. There is one app I purchased on Google Play that I would like to install (the Root board game app by Dire Wolf Digital, in case that matters). The App Lounge tells me that I can’t install paid apps in anonymous mode. Does anyone know a way around this that doesn’t involve logging in to my Google account? I have already contacted Dire Wolf Digital to change my account email to my new Proton Mail account, so once I have the app installed there shouldn’t be any problems logging in.
Is there any way to install apps purchased in Google Play without logging in with my Google account?
Not sure it’s a good answer but just an idea (because I don’t have Google account) :
What if you register your Google account, install your app and then delete your Google account from the phone ?
I had several paid apps before I decided to cancel both my Google-accounts and live a happy Google-free life.
I wrote to all the developers, explained the situation and besides one app they all gave me the option use their app just like that, no Google Play needed. One or two companies me me purchase again with payment via PayPal. But then I could yse their apps without Play Store. That was more than okay for me. First they are great apps so I’d sponsor the maker and second leaving Google was my decision and not theirs. But most switched me over for free! By, for example, giving me a lifetime de-block, code for a pro-version.
Thanks for the advice, I have taken it.
