So, I want to figure out if there is a conflict with having two versions of Davx5 the version that comes in by default via the Accounts and the more updated version from App Lounge.
My current setup, I have Davx5 from App lounge installed because of integration with JTX board for the Journal feature. My tasks update correctly in JTX board, but not in the default Tasks App.
My theory is that two Davx5 causes a conflict in updating Tasks only as calendar does update.
Question: Others that might have this conflict did you discover it when adding a more updated Davx5 with Tasks actually taking from the web and vise versa?
What i plan to do is remove Davx5 and see if Task App returns to pulling from the web interface.
I’d need to replicate your setup to understand. You do this all within one caldav account that both AM and DAVX list in their overview - but two separate calendars again within that caldav account?
Correct, the reason was at least at the time, JTX Board wasnt seeing AM as Davx5 and required a separate install to get access specifically to the Journal feature, which I was using instead of Notes, as it using the CalDav structure.
I’m not a big tasks user (I had a dozen entries that… most I never got to heh) - but they did sync.
I noticed when having two apps that manage tasks, I can’t get the Tasks items sync to the remote through built-in accountmanager (the fork) or davx itself.
Doesn’t matter if the pair is opentasks + tasks.org or opentasks + jtxboard. The default Tasks (opentasks fork) will not sync. It also lost the Tasks permission so the content resolver complained: ContentResolver: Failed to get type for: content://com.android.calendar (Unknown URL content://com.android.calendar)
There’s something I don’t understand yet about tasks in Android (I do know that they’re just calendar entries, funneled into a caldav object by am/davx).
Oh that is very interesting! I am waiting for the 3.1 to do me out and I might do a backup and fresh install and redetermine my use of jtx board since the only reason is for the journal feature
