Dear all,
This is my first post, I hope I’m doing it right. I tried to find if this is a known issue, but I can’t find similar issues.
TLDR: how can I change the name of the ‘Junk’ folder of my hotmail account on my FP4 on e/OS? It can’t be done in my Microsoft account, because there it already has the correct name.
Explanation: One of my mail accounts is hotmail (I know - I’m phasing it out, but it takes time). The folder for unwanted mail (‘Ongewenste e-mail’, as named in my local language) had been named ‘Junk’ per default by the Mail app on e/OS.
Since oct 26th, no more mails are syncing in that folder. It turns out that this is Microsoft policy. They sent me an email, saying:
“One or more folders in your mailbox have name conflicts with others or system reserved names.
Folders with these names can’t be downloaded by your IMAP e-mail program.
- Junk
Please connect to your mailbox using your Web browser and rename those folders. Once renamed, those folders will be displayed in your IMAP e-mail application correctly.”
As stated, this doesn’t work.
- The folder ‘Ongewenste e-mail’ does not show up in my Mail app
- The folder ‘Junk’ in my mail app used to be synced with ‘Ongewenste e-mail’ but now no longer is.
- I cannot find any option to change the name ‘Junk’ into ‘Ongewenste e-mail’ on my device.
- And when I open my Microsoft account in the web browser as adviced in their mail, the folder already has the correct name.
Is this a known issue? And does anyone have the solution? Many thanks for your help!
