Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online services
Hi All,
I’m learning Spanish and wondered if anyone has an app recommendation. I need something that translates well, includes translation from uploading a photo and can use speech to record and listen (ideally with a good accent, not robotic). Does such a thing exisit outside of the well known ones, which are rated as low privacy?
Any experience would be greatly appreciated!

I think DeepL is the default, privacy respecting app. But I would like to see if there are any other options.
Oh, thanks for this, I have just seen there are two versions, and as you say, one is Open Source. Unfortunately it doesn’t have the same function with photo upload or speech. The one with 7/10 privacy does. I guess that’s because I’m allowing access of my camera/microphone? To be honest, I’m guessing ha,ha.
You can use G. Translate in your browser; it’s complete with images and sound translation. Using it through a secure browser should help protecting your privacy. 
The open source version is an unofficial DeepL android app.
