Is Zorin or linux mint better for compatibility with eos? (For beginners ) Connectivity app needed?

It really makes no difference. Any mainstream Linux distribution is fine. Just try a few and go with the one you like best.

Both Mint and Zorin ship a version or fork of GNOME / gnome-online-accounts · GitLab that can make contacts/calendar integration and a davfs mount (files) work.

In KDE world it ships akonadi plugins that do the dav syncing.

In any case, I would stick with a Debian/Ubuntu derivative - like Linux Mint or Zorin - as instructions relating to custom Android ROMs are probably written most frequently for Debian/Ubuntu/etc. users.
