Device Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5g, On the two biggest networks in Holland, KPN and Vodafone, VoLTE and VoWifi works.

3UK switched off UMTS on 24th September 2024. I have had to buy Sony Xperia 1 III to get VoLTE working

I’ve just today picked up a OnePlus 8 Pro to begin the swap over.

You can copy some app data over with adb, while having rooted debugging on
All you need to access those files is
adb root
And you can then copy paste them by
adb pull /data/user/0/apps/name.of.app
adb push name.of.app /data/user/0/apps/

Some apps would need copy of user_de app contents as well

Some apps will not work after such copy and would need data wipe

Most apps can be copied this way

Checkout the solutions in this wiki post. They won’t backup ‘EVERYTHING’ , but they are the best I’ve found.

For reference here are the compatibility lists for the 3 New Zealand carriers:

As far as I can see, there is basically only one phone in common between these lists and /e/ device selector lists.

The Pixel 7 or 7 plus.

If I have missed any other option let me know in a reply. I need to replace my Samsung pretty soon now…

Yes, the One Plus 8 works like a charm with e/os in the UK on Three which recently turned off their 3G.
All good.

I’m with Tesco (O2) which will switch off 3g in 2025 so my S9 will become useless. Good to know that the OnePlus 8 Pro works ok and that i can switch service provider if it doesn’t work with Tesco. Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Specifically, it would be good to know all /e/ devices that have VoLTE currently working in the UK, as carriers here are making changes in 2025.

I am not sure whether Sony Xperia 1 III is in table, but it does work with full support of all IMS functions (VoLTE, ViLTE, VoNR, VoWiFi, SMS over LTE or NR)

Thank you, that is very helpful. I did wonder what happened to SMS in case 2G was to be switched off. This is also very important because debit cards etc. use Two Factor Authentification using SMS messages.

If i’m good SMS work as well as in 2G, 3G, 4G or 5G network.

Hi,

I would like to know if any /e/OS users can confirm that the Sony XA2 H4113 can support volte / wowifi in France.
From what I could understand, the device itself could be compatible, but since these technologies depend on the telecom operator / network in addition to the operating system, I would like to understand if anybody has some experience to share. When I checked the support sections in the websites of Free mobile and Sosh, the XA2 was not mentioned…

I have added Sony Xperia 1 III (pdx215) and Sony Xperia 1 V (pdx234). I own both devices. Both work up to 2.9-a14 with ALL IMS capabilities (ViLTE - Video over LTE not tested; VoLTE, VoNR, VoWiFi tested and working). I included initial version of /e/OS I have flashed. They may work with older /e/OS release, but I am not going to test, as those are production devices.
