Local bus app not working without gmaps

Hi, I often use a bus app (dBus), which uses gmaps on its interface to show the bus stops and time of arrival. In a newly /e/ installed S9, when I open the app, it throws this message:

Error, Google maps not installed.

It seems weird to me that an app needs another app to be installed in orther to work, but I don’t know…

Could you try Öffi from f-droid ?
Öffi (Der König des Fahrplandschungels!) - https://f-droid.org/app/de.schildbach.oeffi

You could also try this one from f-droid too, works well enough for me.

If it is an absolutely must have then you can install Google Maps from Aurora Store on /e/ , it works quite well on /e/ . Shows some messages saying play services will need to be updated and so on but that can be ignored.
First though try other non Google apps and check if they work.

No, it is not an absolutely must have, I can deal without it honestly. Its just more convenient. I’ll check the alternatives in fdroid, thanks!
