Hi all,
I use swiss travelling apps for my train travels: Fairtiq and CFF (SBB). Those 2 apps regularly lose my position and warn that the GPS is lost. It is a little bit weird since the GPS works perfectly on other apps like Maps for example.
Any clue?
Update: I had a discussion with the Fairtiq support: it seems that the app can access to GPS only when my phone is active (screen on). The support guy told me that their app is not aggressive enough to ask for GPS while the smartphone is inactive. How could I set my GPS to keep active anyways?
You might try Caffeine app, allows to set a tile to up to 30 minutes; I guess this would allow GPS to stay active while the app is required in use. (As I understand, GPS tends to be backgrounded by Android due to thoughts of power wastage inside buildings etc.)

Unfortunately the install of Caffeine did not work from App Lounge. 
Using F-droid I could install Caffeinate.
