I have an issue with losing the network for a while now. I would say since couple of updates.
Everyting works nice, but after a while (an hour or so) the network connectiona starts to lose.
Telegram is a nice marker for knowing that. I open the Telegram and it’s written “Connecting…”. After a couple of seconds it changes to Telegram (now is connected). And for up to one minute everything works. But after the minute or so it gets off and the Telegram is saying " Connecting…" again. And this time I have to wait for some time. Sometimes it never connects and I have to go to Airplane mode and back.
But the worst part is that calling stops working and nobody can call me. And all that while having full network with 5G icon all the time.
I have tried factory reset, but nothing changed.
Just now, I have tested with different SIM card (different carrier) and still the issue persists.
The only way to still be able to call, is to change to VoLTE (but then everybody that calls me is Unknown ID). But the issue with network persists.
Does anybody have any solution to this issue?
Should I open the bug on Gitlab?
I have FP4, with the latest 2.7 version and Android 14. The issue was the same in Android 13.
I hope I’m not the only one with this kind of problems and I hope I’ll be able to solve it.
Unfortunately I can’t register to gitlab.e.foundation (“Email is not allowed for sign-up. Please use your regular email address. Check with your administrator” - for all my email addresses… go figure), otherwise here is the issue that you opened: Losing network all the time (#8491) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab - if I figure out how to register I’ll put a +1 there too.
The solution that works for me is - changing the phone and OS. :-/

Friend’s FP4 seems to encounter same situation.
He switches on his FP4. Network icon is available in the status bar.
Open a browser, no problem, everything is fine.
He locks the phone. Then unlocks it and try again to go to a web site : no more internet connection.
He has to go in quick settings for Internet, disable data mobile, enable again, then the browser can open a website.
The phone had the release 2.x and was blocked at that point : when in update section, no update avalaible.
He tried to contact Fairphone support. Answer : clear the cache of App and then try again to check new release. And that’s ok : FP4 has received /e/OS 3.0.2.
Unfortunatelly now, the phone has no more data mobile, only Wifi…
Do you have a idea to help him ?
In the top bar, the network icon displays a ‘!’ :
About the release which is installed in his phone :
