I have /e/OS on an S8. And all of a sudden a few weeks ago. I’m unable to make and receive calls with an S8. I am on Optus network in Australia. And the connection says “LTE”
Try put it in airplane mode, wait for 10 seconds and turn the airplane mode off. Then try if it works or not.
I have the same issues with my FP4. It works normal with VoLTE.
You might study this thread Phone app - calls not connecting - making or receiving - #7 by Taurus. I think all the specifics will be there, but in brief if your carrier has made a change to VoLTE then Samsung phones have a hard time on a Custom ROM as IMS on Samsung is proprietary.
I am not quite certain of the exact “technical” but when Vodafone made this change in the UK they published a graphic showing that while 3G was closing, 3G LTE would continue. After the change my Samsung seemed to make and receive calls just fine, most of the time, not always. Maybe contact your carrier.
I did however retire the Samsung for a combination of reasons.
