Lost root access latest Magisk cannot flash recovery

Hi guys,

Since I have updated my phone (star2lte) to /e/0.18 I have lost root access and I don’t know how to restore it. I cannot use recovery for flashing because my file system is encrypted. I have to fill in a password in TWRP to disable encryption but I have never set a password.

Magisk main screen

Installed:N/A A/B: No
Ramdisk: Yes SAR: Yes

v23.0 app installed

How to restore root access?

Thanks for your help!

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/ the unGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

You are not the first user thinking he don’t have set a password for encryption, but it is a mandatory step to encrypt the phone.

Test with a known stuff like pin code, or let empty, or search the forum with pertinent keywords

Try without disabled encryption as you just need to flash a patched /boot.img

To patch the boot image, extract it from the /e/OS.zip
Patch it within the magisk app, and flash it using TWRP

Hi thanks for your reply

I have been able w previous updates to restore root access by flashing in Magisk but I forgot how I did it…now i remembered and my device is working again.

Reboot recovery

Decrypt data screen > cancel password

Unmodified System Partition screen > Swipe to allow modifications

Hit install and select your Magisk zip file from external storage

Flash and reboot

Root access restored.
