Why is there resolution limit to 12,58 MP though hardware says 50 MP?
Tried several apps but all limited.

It makes me a bit sad that you still haven’t received a reply to your question. I’ve also been looking for a solution for quite some time. I believe this issue affects quite a lot of Xiaomi users, maybe even all of them.
I’ve opened a separate topic where I listed the problems I’m facing with /e/OS on my Redmi Note 10 Pro. I also submitted the bug report on GitLab.
I’m curious whether you experience the other two issues as well. Does “Find my device” work properly for you, and do you have any problems with call waiting?

I’m not disappointed that much and I remember similar issues with my other phones before but I did not focus on it that much back then I guess.
I’ve read about installing Xiaomi camera app on XDA iirc but I did not want to mess around with that process yet. Maybe I will do later on but iirc there is no other way to get “full features” without proprietary app.
Regarding find my device I’ve noticed same behaviour iirc with older Sony XA2 phone. Not sure about Xiaomi and Samsung device but I think with Xiaomi it worked.
I’ve done some bug reporting as well but did not receive updates yet (or at least I did not get noticed). I guess this is just not possible to cover for all devices with that project and manpower.

If you ever decide to give it a try, there are two parts to it: one is quite straightforward, and the other can be a bit more complicated.
The simple part: download the GCam app I mentioned in the other thread, and install a gallery app. If you’re lucky, everything will work perfectly right away.
If you’re not that fortunate, you may encounter the following issues:

The camera doesn’t reproduce colors accurately.

The maximum resolution remains limited to 12 MP.
That’s when the more involved part comes in: finding the correct XML configuration for your specific device so that all camera functions work properly, colors look good, and you achieve the maximum image resolution. There are many such XML files, and pinpointing the most suitable one isn’t a simple task.
