Mail and K-9 Mail

Hi to all,
after having successfully installed a new /e/OS version, I encounter problems with the set-up of an e-mail account. I skipped this topic during installation process, now Mail does not offer to create a new account. It only allows for importing data.

Happy new year to all!

Thus, I tried K-9 Mail. I could create an account, but the pen for starting a new mail is absent. According to another forum, this may occur, if this item “Settings - General Settings - Display - Show Floating Compose Button” is unchecked. However, it is not present in this place in settings. I tried to search for it, but don’t know the German translation.

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

I guess Mail app cannot start right now as it is not in

Settings > Accounts.

Check out + Add account – do you see an option to add there?

Alternatively try Configure Murena e-mail on /e/OS and other clients

The server outage may affect exactly what you can do.

Try connecting to the murena.io account itself in the Android account menu or simply use the button on the left screen of the home screen.

It should then automatically connect the email as well as the contacts and calendar.

i had the same problem, the reason for it was that i changed in settings to a larger view, after resetting to standard i could see the button for creating a new account

Great! Many thanks, this was the helpful hint! I reduced size of text and icons again and thereafter could create an account.

Also thanks to aibd and GabrielT for contributions. I wanted to connect to the mail account of my DSL provider, which was not listed as an option in the accounts menu.
