Mail app starts then stops

Using /e/OS Applications

I have a Fairphone 4, bought from Murena. It gets updated to current versions /e/os,
3.1.4-a14-20250915526529-official-FP4.

The mail app stops working after a very brief start. It is not usable:-(

This behavior started with the version upgrade to 3.1.1.
I do not fiddle with the OS, no skills or desire to intervene.

the general advice on app startup issues after upgrade is an app cache reset through Settings → Apps

anything special about your mail setup, multiple accounts or providers?

then I’d just go for another mail client. Mail app is a k9mail / thunderbird-mail fork. Disable “Mail sync” in Settings → Accounts → murena if you have this.

I visited the link you provided, tried the suggestion., no luck.

I just installed Thunderbird app, easy peasy, I do not need the sync option , so I should be good.
