Mail Authentication fails due to 2FA TOTP

The
How to enable Two Factor Authentication (2FA) ๐Ÿ”‘ 2FA setup suggests to manually setup mail application. This is working.

Then for the eOS account manager a new app password is setup. Works as well.

Now following is happening.
The app password setup overwrites the mail application account and password setup. Thos lead to authentication failing of the mail application. Mail setup.

What is the official workaround and is this planned to be solved?

Thank you!

Same Issue here. Installing another email client is a Workaraound, but a solution would bi nice.

Version: 3.1.4-t-20250915526530-official-FP5
Mail App: Version 6.711-2

In the still open Gitlab Issue the solution is the same i mentioned here. Deactivating Mail Syncronisation and using an additonal Mail Client Application

This is a known issue. We are working on implementing SSO to get around this problem. At present the team is in the development and testing phase. Will share when we are ready.
