I recently checked the tracker statistics in the Advanced Privacy settings. I’m not surprised to see lots of blocked trackers in the browser app. But why does it need to block Google Analytics in the pre-installed Maps app?!

Ah, yes, thank you! I didn’t see that the message is quite old. I did indeed open the browser some time ago. I still don’t get why a map app needs to have its own browser…
a webview is a system facility, a system-wide browser. But sure, an option to open links externally would come in handy for other purposes too (bookmarking etc). One can mail the feature request the magicearth support, it can add up.
