Asynchronicity can improve privacy (as to when and from where you fetched the message). I guess just one more tool? (when you’re making calls in messengers, it’s very likely happening on webrtc too)

But as they say nothing is certain in life only death and taxes
I wonder what encryption scheme is meant specifically. Guardianproject did some work close to Matrix tech for both the Círculo and Convene apps (that had heavier backends than just webrtc + signaling).
There’s a dev active in a r/Skred subreddit to ask.
